jeetbuzz Tongits Go — A Card Game of Strategy and Fun
Tongits, the popular card game from the Philippines, is now available on jeetbuzz in a digital version by JILI. In this three-player game, the keys to winning are matching cards, keeping your points low, and calling Draw at the right moment.
Rules of a Round
Tongits Go is essentially a three-player card game. It is played with a standard 52-card deck. The dealer gives each player 12 cards and places one card face-up on the table — this starts the draw pile.
On each turn, a player draws one card from the draw pile or discard pile, then discards one card from their hand. The goal is to form sets (three or four cards of the same rank) or runs (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit) with the cards in hand. Once melded cards are placed on the table, they cannot be taken back.
A round can end in three ways: a player melds all their cards and declares "Tongits"; someone calls "Draw" (when enough cards in hand have been melded); or the draw pile runs out. After a Draw is declared, everyone counts the points of the remaining cards in their hand — the player with the lowest points wins.
Tongits Go can easily be found in the table games section of jeetbuzz Casino.
Hand Rankings and Point Values
In Tongits Go, a card's value depends on its number. The lower your points, the better your hand.
| Card / Hand Type | Point Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 | Lowest point card; useful in any sequence. |
| 2 to 9 | Face Value (2–9) | The number printed on the card is its point value. |
| 10, J, Q, K | 10 | Highest face cards — they increase your points if left in hand. |
| Set | 0 (Melded) | Three or four cards of the same rank — worth zero points once placed on the table. |
| Run (Sequence) | 0 (Melded) | At least three consecutive cards of the same suit — worth zero points once placed on the table. |
| Tongits | Instant Win | Declare after melding all cards in hand — you win the round immediately. |
| Draw | Win on Low Points | A Draw can be called when enough cards have been melded; the winner is determined by comparing the points of remaining cards in hand. |
Remember, each face card (10, J, Q, K) left in hand adds 10 points. Try to meld face cards early in the round or discard them when convenient.
Not Against the Dealer, but Against Other Players
In most card games, players try to beat the dealer, but Tongits Go is different. Here, three players compete against each other. The dealer only distributes cards and manages the draw pile — they are not a participant in the round.
This is why the game feels much like a casual card session among friends. By watching the opponents' melded cards, you can get an idea of which cards they are unlikely to have in hand. You can use this information to decide when to call Draw or when to play carefully.
In JILI's online version, you take one of three seats at the table. The other two may be real players, or in some tables — especially in practice mode — computer-controlled opponents.

Useful Tips for New Players
-
Get rid of face cards early. If you have J, Q, K, or 10 in hand, try to meld or discard them at the start of the round — each carries 10 points.
-
Watch opponents' discards. Paying attention to which cards they throw away helps you estimate the state of their hands.
-
Be careful what you discard. Avoid discarding cards that an opponent could pick up to their advantage.
-
Recognise when to call Draw. If opponents appear to have high points and your hand is clean enough, calling Draw is a smart move.
-
Don't rush for Tongits. Melding all cards is not always possible; winning a Draw with low points is equally effective.
-
Hold onto cards that work in multiple directions. Cards like Ace or 2 that can fit into several sequences keep your options open.
-
Know the minimum meld requirement to call Draw. Under JILI's rules, knowing how many cards must be melded before you can issue a Draw challenge helps you make the right decision at the right time.
-
Practice at low stakes. Play at low-stake tables at first to learn the rules hands-on.
-
Don't compare it to slots. Tongits Go is entirely strategy-based — your card-matching skill determines the outcome. You cannot rely on luck alone the way you would with slot games.

Table Etiquette and Session Management
In online Tongits Go, two other players are at the table with you. Following a few basic table norms keeps the experience good for everyone.
Make decisions on time. Complete your draw or discard within the time allowed for your turn. Delays slow down the game for others. The JILI interface shows a timer — keep an eye on it.
Finish a round once you start it. Dropping the connection mid-game or deliberately leaving ruins the round for the other players.
Set session limits. Before you start playing, decide how many rounds or how much time you will spend. Stop when you reach that target — this is the simplest form of responsible gaming. For more guidance, read jeetbuzz's Responsible Gaming page.
Do not chase losses with bigger bets. After losing a round, raising your bet in the next round to recover is a common mistake in gaming.
